High glabella and high radix: concerns distinct from overall nasal height

A high glabella or a high radix can be distinguished from having a high nasal bridge overall. One case described large nasal bones, a high radix, a dorsal hump, and a drooping tip together. Another patient addressed an unnatural appearance from the profile view, where partial absorption of donor dermis on the bridge made the radix look excessively high.

There was also a finding where remaining filler in the glabella made the area look high and wide. In this case collection, you can review not only the position of the radix, but also how the glabella connects down to the nasal bridge and nasal tip, along with previously used materials. Compare the articles to see the specific backgrounds documented and what was adjusted in the current surgery, even under the shared concern of a high radix.

Why the nasal tip elongates and droops years after rhinoplasty, and how to correct it

A case involving a long, drooping nasal tip and nasal obstruction following previous rhinoplasty with a silicone implant and septal cartilage. The nasal tip was corrected using autologous rib cartilage, performed concurrently with septoplasty, inferior turbinate reduction, and synechia adhesiolysis.

Changes that occur when an implant is positioned high and deviated: methods for replacement and bulbous tip correction

A high, deviated silicone implant was replaced to lower the radix, and septal extension was performed using donor rib cartilage. Partial soft tissue resection, cartilage tie, and rhinitis surgery addressed the bulbous tip and nasal obstruction.

Before-and-after comparison

Why the nose looks short and the columella retracts after revision rhinoplasty, and how to reconstruct the septum

To correct septal cartilage loss from 3 prior surgeries, a short nose appearance, and a bulbous tip, the septum was reconstructed using autologous rib cartilage and the radix was lowered.

Why a high radix makes the nose look artificial: septal reconstruction and radix correction methods

A deviated septum and an excessively high radix resulting from a previous surgery were precisely corrected using donor rib cartilage septal reconstruction, silicone implant replacement, osteotomy, and inferior turbinate reduction.

Why nasal bone deviation and dorsal humps remain after rhinoplasty: lateral osteotomy and autologous rib cartilage correction methods

To correct the residual deviated nasal bone, dorsal hump, and nasal obstruction remaining after a previous silicone rhinoplasty, the existing implant was removed and lateral osteotomy, autologous rib cartilage tip plasty, and septoplasty were performed.

Why silicone implants deviate and make the nose look long: implant replacement and rib cartilage reconstruction

Silicone implant deviation, excessive nostril show, and a high radix were corrected by removing the previous implant, reconstructing the nasal tip with autologous rib cartilage, placing a customized implant, and adjusting the nasolabial angle.

Reasons for a high radix and upturned nasal tip and correction methods

For a high radix, upturned nasal tip, and columellar and nostril asymmetry from a previous surgery, the implant was replaced, tip derotation was performed using autologous rib cartilage, and lower lateral cartilage correction was carried out.

Why the radix starts too high and the nose looks crooked, and how to correct it with autologous rib cartilage

Following a previous implant surgery, issues with a high radix, crooked dorsum, and upturned tip were corrected using autologous rib cartilage septal extension, lateral osteotomy, and nasolabial angle correction.

Why a nose with excessive septal cartilage harvest becomes upturned and blocked, and how to reconstruct it

A case where a septum weakened and deviated to the left from a previous surgery was reconstructed with autologous rib cartilage. Addressing both nasal obstruction and an upturned nose, the nasal tip was elongated, and the depressed nasal dorsum and nasolabial angle were corrected.

Why foreign material from illicit injections remains after removal and how to correct an upturned nasal tip

Due to residual foreign material from past illicit injections, an upturned nose and excessive nostril show persisted; the remaining foreign material was completely removed, and tip rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage was performed alongside radix adjustment.

Common questions before reading the cases

Does having a high radix mean the entire nasal bridge is high?

In these surgical records, the two expressions are clearly differentiated. One original record explains an unnatural look from the profile view where partial absorption of donor dermis lowered the nasal bridge, making the radix appear relatively high. Therefore, it is important to identify which specific area the height refers to. This is a case where the radix and the nasal bridge can be evaluated separately.

Can previous filler treatments also be identified in high glabella cases?

Yes. One patient's original record noted that residual filler in the glabella made it look high and spread out, and granuloma tissue had formed on the nasal bridge due to a foreign body reaction. This record demonstrates that rather than assuming a high radix is simply an issue with the nasal bone or an implant, one must consider both past procedure history and the actual materials identified during surgery.
