👨⚕️ Specialist's assessment
For this type of case, the primary goal was to transform a wide, blunt nose into a slim and refined line. Because the patient desired a defined, glamorous look, our focus was on achieving a sophisticated line and appropriate height suited to that preference.
By performing septal extension with autologous rib cartilage and nasolabial angle correction, we refined the profile view and narrowed the nasal width to create a slimmer impression from the front. In particular, correcting the retracted columella emphasized a more refined feel, while improving alar asymmetry and reducing the nostril sill established overall harmony.
This was Dr. Peter C. Kang. Thank you.
Thank you.

Limitations and risks
When autologous rib cartilage is used, scarring and pain may remain at the donor site on the chest, and pneumothorax (pleural injury) can occur rarely. Over time, the grafted cartilage may warp or undergo partial resorption.
When the septum is corrected at the same time, nasal obstruction may persist or recur, and in rare cases, septal perforation or changes in smell may occur.
Common potential risks include infection, bleeding, asymmetry, scarring, skin necrosis, and insufficient improvement; results vary depending on individual skin condition and previous surgical history.
